Let me start by saying that this is a very reliable hardware. Everything works fine with lots of free apps. However I wish Apple could have provided an sd card slot for extra storage. I also wished they could provided some kind of conversion software for Palm users like me to transfer/ backup files to the ipod. Above all I am very satisfied with this product. With the wifi feature I am able to surf the web and read email while I'm not by my computer. There is one drawback to this, and that is on some networks that are openned(unsecure)I'm unable to join(connect) those networks. I've tried everything to find out and still don't know why. As for the other networks I'm able to join, it's a very pleasant experiance.
I've downloaded songs, and it works very good. The same goes for my photos that I uploaded from my computer.
The end result is that this is a very good investmest you could make for a hand held device.
After debating between the iPad and this iPod I'm so glad I went with the iPod Touch. For listening to music & books, watching videos and casual internet surfing it works great and it fits in my purse! The interface is very intuitive; iTunes is easy to use as well. I'm glad I got the 32gb; anything smaller is just too little storage space.
I just received the iPod 3g 32GB model. Love it.
It was easy to set up for the most part. A bit tricky to figure out how to import my email contacts list onto the Ipod but I was able to follow the directions in Yahoo, iTunes and iPod. I had trouble getting the voice control to work at first but went online and read user feedback. Fixed the problem after switching it off and then turning it back on. These are really the only difficulties I've had with the setup.
32 GB is a ton of space. I've already uploaded 375 songs and that is just about 3 GB. iTunes is fairly easy to figure out although I do recommend the tutorials and reading the user guide which have been helpful. Takes patience if it's something new to you. Some people complained in reviews about having to use iTunes but I really like it. You can sort your songs by artist, album, etc... both on iTunes and on the iPod which is terrific. Some downloads you can't get on the iPod - at least I don't know how because it isn't downloaded through iTunes - like Rush Limbaugh's radio program - which is downloaded with Windows Media Player.
I love the different apps you can load onto the iPod and there are so many free ones. The apps make the websites easier to use on the iPod. There are facebook, various shopping, navigation, airline apps. Some of my favorite apps are WBGL and WCIC which are Christian radio stations in IL that I love and can't get here in TX.
The ability to access the internet when not at home was my primary reason for choosing the iPod over other mp3 players. This is easy to do and works great in wireless environments. Much easier than lugging a computer around.
I would highy recommend it!
Excellent item, is working super, thanks to Apple and Amazon for the great service...5 stars...
This is my first ever ipod touch (32g) and I love it! I had a few problems getting windows vista to find the product but after several tries it now works great. My adult daughter is very upset with me because she only has the 16g LOL. So far I can't find anything I do not like.Apple iPod touch 32 GB (3rd Generation) NEWEST MODEL
I am SO glad that I decided to get this! I have recommended this item to several friends and they have really enjoyed theirs, as well.
I bought one of these for my niece. It does what it claims to do, but I find that neither Apple nor any other company offers a decent MP3 player that can combine the "recreational" uses (high quality MP3 sound, a wide array of downloadable applications, organization of MP3 files, video viewing) with serious business functionality (keeping a journal, including hand sketches using a stylus, and a camera functionally integrated with my journal so I can easily insert pictures in my electronic journal).
For all the rave reviews, this is a teeny-bopper device. I am gravely disappointed with other reviewers for all handheld devices for not demanding a full-featured personal digital assistant along with the array of kiddie features that come with the iPod.
I can not find an electronic device of any kind that fills my relatively simple shopping list of features:
1. High quality MP3 player and playlist organizer
2. FM radio, so I can listen to the news while riding the bus to work.
3. A work journal like that which most field engineers carry with them to track ongoing project work.
4. Touch screen that allows simple sketches to be added to my work journal.
5. A decent camera that can add photos to my work journal.
6. Blackberry-style email functionality
7. Integrated cell phone
8. A full-function calculator including advanced trig and complex number calculations, as well as financial calculations.
In addition, mobile internet browsing functionality is desirable but I could wait until I'm back at the office to browse if I could get the rest of these core features in a single device.
A full-function address book is also an absolute must, but most iPhone-like devices do a decent job with this.
Nobody puts the whole package together, and I don't plan on carrying an iPhone, a portable radio, and a separate PDA to work with me.
I just lost my Sansa Fuze MP3 player and I'm shopping for an upgrade. I would pay $500+ for a serious PDA. After looking at the iPods, iPhones, Droids, PDAs, etc., I'm buying another Sansa. No matter what I get, I'll have to get two or three separate gadgets to obtain the features I need at home and at work. There's no point in making the dive into a full-featured PDA until someone who understands how professionals do their jobs designs a good one.
i got it for my kid, and he really love it. Probably I will buy the latest model for me.
Product arrived as described and in good order. Arrived as per Apple store packaging. Trustworthy and reliable and way cheaper than where I live.
Good Ipod touch for the price. Problem is that you can not see more than 11 pages of apps. Company says that an update will be coming in the future to allow you to see all of your apps. It is inconvenient at this time.
