4 star rated nice tea, good value, July 2nd, 2010 by H. Harvey, Santa Rosa, CA

This is a nice tea with a mellow flavor. A good value for the price.

5 star rated Great tea! Great price! Fast shipping!, June 13th, 2010 by E. Garratt, Indy

I love this tea! It costs much less than most other brands i've seen online. Also, the company ships it pretty quickly. This matcha tea also seem to curb my appetite for some reason, which is a bonus!

5 star rated wonderful, June 2nd, 2010 by sg, florida

I agree with the other reviewers that this matcha is a good value. I don't need the tea-ceremony-quality b/c I use this primarily in smoothies. I would buy it again. My only concern is that it is from China (I recall one reviewer suggest that Taiwan wasn't in China -it isn't on the mainland but it is part of China). I hate to say that but I am concerned about China's poor record of quality control ( not Chinese equivalent of our FDA).

5 star rated Good flavor!, April 15th, 2010 by Kirsten M., Thornton, CO

It has a nice, fresh, grassy smell. I also use it for making green tea ice cream. My kids love it, they ask for a green tea latte all the time. The price was good, too.

4 star rated Malden Tea, April 13th, 2010 by S. Harrison, Augusta, GA

I love the Matcha for it's affordable price. The flavor is crisp and mild. I drink mine hot but plan to try it in some of the recipes that were included in my shipment. This is my second shipment from Malden Tea. The delivery is prompt and my packages arrive in great shape! A+ customer service! Thank you for offering a superior product at an affordable price!Matcha Green Tea Powder (1/2 lb.)

4 star rated Malden Tea/Tea Zone - nice flavor and great price, April 6th, 2010 by Carol Blaney, Atlanta, Georgia, USA

This morning I taste-tested 3 top-rated Matcha green teas that I recently purchased on Amazon. 1. Serendipi Tea matcha culinary grade organic green tea from Japan, 4 oz. costs $17.43 (result: *****) 2. Tea Zone matcha green tea powder, 8 oz. costs $16.99 (Amazon sells this as `Matcha Green Tea Powder By Malden Tea', but my black foil packaging label says it's made by Tea Zone) (result: ****) 3. Liquid Jade powdered matcha green tea 100% organic, 3 oz. Cost $18.46 (result: ***) Recipe: I made 3 different cups of `green tea latte' with the following method: 1 tsp tea powder, mixed with filtered water into a smooth paste, added to 1/3 cup hot soymilk + 1/3 cup boiling water + 1 tsp raw agave nectar, frothed into a Latte-style tea with hand-pump device. NOTE: I am a scientist. Each cup was clearly labeled. I tasted the teas side-by-side, taking 3 sips of each before proceeding to next sample. I tasted in random order until all 3 cups were consumed. Total time: 15 minutes. I took lots of notes and drew graphs etc. Result: Serendipi Tea (5+ stars) won for sweet smooth flavor, amazing long lasting froth bubbles, and the fact it's organic!! Cost: $4.30/oz but worth it. Note on the packaging: For those reviewers complaining of the green tea powder leaking, I have to point out that it's hand packed, with a note explaining that you must pack it yourself in an airtight and light-blocking container. Fine with me, since this is the best tea I've found, and the act of packing it myself is itself a ZEN moment in which I feel a connection to the individual soul who packed the brown bag by hand just for me. You decide. Tea Zone (Malden Tea) (4+ stars) came in second for a very nice flavor, but the frothy bubbles popped sooner than the Serendipi Tea, making for a lower rating, and plus, it isn't organic. But it gets extra points for its low cost: $2.12/oz (can't beat it for a daily tea). Liquid Jade (3 stars) was an O.K. tea, ever-so-slightly more bitter than the other two I taste tested, and almost a chalky feeling (perhaps it was ground into larger particles than the other teas). Yes it's organic, always a plus, but at a cost of $6.15/oz, no way will I buy this again when I can get TeaZone 4 stars for a third this cost, and Serendipi Tea 5 stars for significantly less money as well. So long Liquid Jade (though I do love your container and I'll save it.)

5 star rated Best tea I have ever had!, March 26th, 2010 by Evelyn Smith, Kalamazoo, MI.

Best tea I have ever had. I actually feel better (health-wise) when I drink it.

5 star rated Earthy taste, Great Price!, March 23rd, 2010 by MissLou2425, Florida

If you are a fan of smooth, earthy tasting green teas...then this one is for you! The texture (once prepared) is similar to Chai tea, but I would say it definately has an "acquired taste" sorta vibe going on. There is no other matcha, priced as well, for the amount you receive. As an added benefit, this tea also helps to keep the waistline trimmer! Good purchase all around!

5 star rated Pleasantly surprised, March 16th, 2010 by Todd Blum, New Orleans, LA

This is my first experience with green tea, so if you're some kinda' hoity toity tea connoisseur, just disregard this review. I got it today @ lunch, so just to try it out, I threw some in my blender (Champ HP3, I use that thing for everything) with some cold filtered water and some stevia and mixed on high for a couple minutes. It got pretty frothy and cloudy, but it tasted pretty good (maybe a bit mild). I made enough for two glasses (about 24 oz) but I easily drank it all! No aftertaste either. You're supposed to use 160°F water, but I don't know why since mixing wasn't an issue. Of course, I used a good blender and consumed immediately, so maybe that had something to do with it. Hopefully it has the same health benefits if unheated since a quick-mix is most convenient for me. Shipping was fast. Will order more. Might try other suggested preparations too.
