I have begun writing a book and only had Works on the computer. I have had Word in the past so knew I had to get it for this project. When I read of the free update to 2010 I decided to go with the student edition. It has what I need and the 2007 edition price was right plus being able to use it on the desktop and laptop (3 computer family ).Good value compared to elsewhere.
Overall, it is okay. I got a new PC that came with MS Office Pro but I didn't need all the features and it was expensive. I got this one. However, I have to uninstall the Pro before I could install this one. It is just stupid! Someone told me one can just enter the new product key and it would activate the ones that installed/came with my new laptop. I think I will download the free upgrade of MS Office 2010.
It takes a while to learn where everything is, but it is usable and I think I am going to enjoy using it.
I bought Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student but the only part of it that I've really used is the Excel part. The software appears to be well written. When you add all the capabilities in it, I think it's a very good deal for around $100.00. It's got hundreds of built in mathematical, scientific, statistical, and financial functions. It allows you to build and work with tables of data in a manner similar to working with databases. You can do graphs. That's a pretty sophisticated capability that allows you to show them in various formats. You can do scenarios and what if types of studies. The ability to generate and modify Pivot Table Reports on the fly is an amazing capability all by itself. I'm impressed and I haven't even started to work with Word and Powerpoint yet. There's even more. You can create and read XML files, import and export data from and to other databases, Publish Worksheets on the web so others can view them, print, share your workbook with other users, etc., etc., etc. What I've worked with appears to work well. No software is perfect and this software isn't either, but it's very, very good. I always test it to see if it's doing what I want it to do. It has passed the test just about every time. Where it hasn't, I only needed to tweak it a little to get what I wanted out of it. That's a good software.
Very Satisfied. Works well. Bought for Grandaughter and her freshman year in college She was very pleased. Was able to download on her home computer and laptop that she will take away to college. Received in a timely manner.
I purchased the Microsoft Office from Amazon and am very happy with the purchase. It works like a charm and has been very useful. While I have used Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint in the past, I had never used Microsoft One Note. After using Microsoft One Note, I have started loving it. It has helped me keep my thoughts organized and is a well thought out product.
I would have loved to have "Microsoft Outlook" as part of package. This would have helped me manage appointments from within Microsoft One Note.
One user license would have worked better for me.
Nevertheless 'Microsoft Office" is a wonderful product!
Matchbee was dishonest and misleading in their sale. I never received the CD-ROM as mentioned in the ad. What I did receive was an e-mail about downloading this product which did not work. I was quite happy to get a refund.
As the title says, I am very disappointed with Amazon.com. I routinely shop with confidence at amazon.com knowing that I can trust them to deliver what I order. This was not the case with this purchase.
My daughter recently entered a post graduate editing program at UW and required Microsoft Word, so I bought her Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007 via Amazon.com. The product was advertised as a CD-ROM version of the software, however, that is not what I received. A few days later, I received a FedEx envelope from Ruckus Enterprises. The envelope contained a sheet of paper with download instructions for Microsoft Office and a 25-digit Product Code (license). I was disappointed and confused about not receiving the packaged software, but time was of the essence and my daughter needed to edit papers in Word. So, I forwarded her the information and asked her to download, install, and activate the product according to the instructions on the sheet.
Immediate;y there were problems with activation. The product would not activate over the Internet and she had to call Microsoft directly. The product would still not activate and she was allowed 15 uses of the product before it became permanently unusable. To help her out, I made a housecall to see what I could do with the software. I uninstalled and re-installed the software twice and attempted activation three times. All attempts failed and then I noticed something odd--the product's title on hte header bar said, "Microsoft Word Non-cmmercial version." The Microsft activation representative said that we may be victims of software piracy and the we should contact the vendor for resolution. I could not find any contact information for ruckus Enterprises, so I contacted Amazon.com directly.
Amazon was nice, but simply directed me to email Ruckus Enterprises and then wait up to three days for an answer. It is now day two and no reply from Ruckus Enterprises. I will give them one more day as instructed by Amazon.com, but meanwhile my daughter cannot work and I am out nearly $100. I was not aware of the vendor review section, but I wish that I was prior to purcahsing from Amaon.com/Ruckus enterprises. Ten out of ten reviews were negative and all mirrored my experience. Apparently Ruckus Enterprises does not have the software nor licenses and simply distributes hacked software and previously used licenses.
As I mentioned, I am very disappointed with Amazon.com, mostly for allowing fraud by one of their vendors. I am also disappointed that I did not receive the product as a packaged CD-ROM as advertised. I will thoroughly research each product and reviews before ever buying anything again on Amazon.com, that is, if I ever buy from Amazon.com again.
Installed in three computers. Unlike some that install in only one computer.
Great Deal
I had some problems installing this, had to be done twice. I wish it would integrate or replace my Microsoft Office 2003 but instead I seem to have both on my computer so when I open an old document, it's opened with '03 and sometimes I accidentally open the old Word. I wish I just had ONE Word so things didn't get confused like this. Could be doing something wrong, but it should be easier than this, it's not like I never use computers, I've been using Microsoft and Word for at least 15 years.
Other than that, I didn't like the tool bar change from 2003 to 2007 that took a lot of getting used to and still have to spend some effort finding somethings. With use, as with everything, it gets easier. And all in all it is fine, it's not like I would go back to only using 2003.
