I have had many pedometers over the years and strive to get at least the 10,000 steps per day recommended by the American Heart Association. I have also lost a lot of pedometers, so I appreciate the clip on the Omron. Although pedometers can be bulky, whether tucked in a pocket or clipped on a waistband, this is less cumbersome than most.
The real benefit is that you download the information and have graphs to show the number of steps/aerobic steps/whether you've achieved your goal etc. This puts the accountability right out there: I find that very motivating.
I have purchased at least 10 other pedometers over the past 25 years and this is by far the best one I have ever had. Its accurate, easy to use, has many great features and is a great buy for the price. I've been using mine daily for a month now and can't imagine going through a day without it being clipped on now. Works great clipped to waistband, I haven't used it in a pocket or purse yet to see if that feature is useful. The safey leash that is included with it makes it very secure.
This unit is great, because you can slip it in our pocket and forget it. I use it to keep track of my daily steps. My job requires a lot of up and down and bending over, and a traditional belt clip pedometer kept falling off. This unit is accurate, and you can download your progress to your computer to track your progress. I would buy it again if it broke.
I am very happy with this product. Took me a moment to figure it out, but once I did, I was off and running - literally. I like the volume of info provided; total miles, calories burned, aerobic steps, and excursion time. What makes it worth its weight, is the database tracking software included with the device. It is Windows compatible (only) though, so be careful if you operate a MAC, UNIX or other platform. I have both Windows and MAC and would have preferred to load it on my MAC, but a palatable consolation for the overall value. Good merchant service, too, in that the Omron Pedometer arrived on time and in excellent condition.
Having a pedometer is a great motivation for getting you out to walk every day. Setting goals of 10000 steps is easier if you can measure what you do. Once you get started you relish being able to see what you've accomplished. Plus, it helps you get out there on the days when you don't really feel like it.
What I really like about this one is that it has a clock so I know how much time I have left (before I have to get home and get ready for work) and I CAN SEE THE NUMBERS!!!

I just wanted to add that I have dropped this numerous times, and it hasnt skipped a beat. But even more impressive, it took a trip through my front load washer and still survived! Granted, it was a little funky for about a week, but it is back and working like a champ again. Nice!
This is second one I have gotten, the first one went into the washer. That would be great if they made a waterproof version. Its easy to read and I love the fact that you can keep track of your progress, by downloading it on the computer. And that I can carry it in my bag or anywhere on me and it keeps track.
I had to re-order when I accidentally went swimming while wearing my first Omrom pedometer (same model). I am addicted to the easy to use features and the downloading of my information. This little product has really kept me motivated.
I purchased this pedometer because I know a few folks who have/use the Omron brand. It came highly recommended. I have to admit that this is the best purchase because I'm able to keep track of how many steps and miles I cover on a daily basis. It also tells how many k-cals are 'burned' as well. It never "resets" itself accidentally and it never falls off of me when I have the extra security clip attached to my clothing! Great purchase . . . get it!!

This pedometer is so great, I have two other omron pocket pedometers and they have proven to be accurate and dependable, but this pedometer with the software that downloads the data into charts, graphs and a record is truly innovative. Now for a pulse monitor that has software, this product is a must have for exercise recordkeeping.
I would recommend it even if you don't use the software. Also the best deal on this pedometer was from Amazon.Com.
